All That Came Before Flax & Hide...
I trained as a Textile Designer and subsequently worked in the Interiors Industry for more years than I care to mention as a Fabric & Wallpaper Designer, Design Tutor, Interior Designer and Project Co-ordinator.
A Wise Man Told Me...
''Do what makes you happy" and so in 2019 the idea of Flax & Hide was born. With a passion for designing and making quality products, combining colour, texture, shapes and detailing I surrounded myself with beautiful leathers, linen threads, beeswax, copper rivets and so many leather tools to perfect my craft.
And So...
With my faithful hounds by my side in my North Yorkshire 'Little Black Barn' Shepherd Hut Studio I now 'Do what makes me happy', I design and make quality leather goods.
Handcrafted...
Flax & Hide products are handmade to order using vegetable tanned leathers responsibly sourced from the finest Artisan Tanneries. Products are hand sewn with a 100% Linen thread coated in natural Beeswax. Metal fittings are of the highest quality.
Committed To Reducing Waste...
Flax & Hide is committed to using sustainable and minimal non-biodegradable packaging. Products come wrapped in either a re-useable linen bag or tissue paper and are delivered in brown cardboard packaging or an eco-envelope made from sugar cane, the greenest material on the market. Flax & Hide re-use materials to package items and recycles all waste.
